About the Founder

Experience across PreK-12, district leadership, and higher education.

I’m Dave Binkley, founder and principal consultant of WorkLight. Over more than 20 years in education, I have worked as a classroom teacher, district instructional technology leader, administrator, adjunct instructor, coach, speaker, and creator.

My experience includes nearly a decade leading instructional technology at the district level, more than a decade teaching in higher education, and extensive work in professional learning, educational visioning, strategic planning, school operations, purposeful technology integration, and districtwide live-event streaming.

I hold multiple master’s degrees, with advanced graduate preparation spanning curriculum and instruction, educational technology, building-level administration, and superintendent leadership. I also hold Ohio principal and superintendent licenses.

That experience has taught me that good ideas are rarely the problem. The challenge is turning them into systems, experiences, and solutions that work for real people. That is where WorkLight comes in.

My work sits at the intersection of educational vision and implementation. I connect big-picture thinking with the details that determine whether an idea will work, including instructional goals, people, workflows, technology, facilities, communications, and daily operations. The result is planning that schools can understand, implement, sustain, and improve.
